Twitter is really silly and self-indulgent and fleeting but holyshit.jpg Patton is a hero of mine and this is cool.
Dan Harmon
I remember watching Acceptable TV on Vh1 in 2007 and thinking it was one of the most uniquely funny shows I had ever seen. It was specific, like all of Dan Harmon’s projects. When other shows were doing everything they could to be broad and attract a wide audience, Dan Harmon and Rob Schrab were creating something special. Community was no different. I say “was” because as far as I’m concerned, the Community I like and respect ended last night when NBC quietly removed Harmon as showrunner. I’ve never had less faith in NBC than I do right now. Not only in their creative vision, but the character of their decision making. Removing Harmon from creative control just before the next (and most likely final) season is just cruel. To do it on a Friday night to minimize the backlash is cowardly. I think that many of the writers will follow him out, though I don’t know their contract situations. As someone who wants to eventually write comedy for a living, I respect Dan Harmon, Megan Ganz, Dino Stamatopoulos and the rest of the show’s writers immensely. I’ve heard stories before of networks being evil, but nothing this blatant. Community was great and unique, and NBC thought they knew better. They don’t. I just hope Dan Harmon doesn’t ever stop creating.
DE(B)LO(G)CATED: KENT STATE UNIVERSITY ADULT SWIM COURSE
I recently did a teleconference with the country’s only Adult Swim college course, at Kent State University. I signed on to Skype and was greeted by this:
A classroom full of students all wearing ski masks.
They also had a giant party sub and home made skins bar.
And a paper mache…
Fucking awesome.
I hope I’m as cool as Nick Lowe when I’m 63.
The best character on TV right now.

Noah Garfinkel is doing great things with a clip of Chris Hayes saying “busted”.
